Muse Reviews the Oscars

The Muse is a geek to be sure but he's also eclectic in the breadth of his knowledge. In between banter about object instantiation and thread management I manage to go to the movies with my wife and kids. I even read a book now and then. My 19 year old daughter Jasmine forces me to stay up on enough entertainment news so I can have more interesting conversations with her at Sunday Lunch. So naturally I was interested in the Oscars. I did indeed watch the whole thing with my wife (actually I watched while I continued my reading of the 19th edition of the "Complete PC Repair and Upgrade Guide"... but it still counts). Here is the Muse review of the 82nd annual Oscars:

Sandra Bullock a "one trick pony"??? I don't usually comment about celebrities but after reading your comment, I had to respond to your ignorance. She is an amazing and multi-faceted actress who definitely deserves to be in the same category as the great Meryl Streep. Her performances in "28 Days" and "Crash" were amazingly moving and her ability to channel the character in the most profound way possible is so rare these days. Her acceptance speech last night was gracious, sweet, witty, and incredibly humble. Any interview I have ever seen her in is so refreshing. She has the most down-to-Earth yet wise outlook on things. Her relaxed and informal nature is misleading for she is a force of nature and so many so called acresses today would be lucky to have an ounce of her talent, intuition, and grace. You are certainly entitled to your opinion and I definitely agreed with some of your statements but calling Sandra Bullock a one trick pony is outrageous and certainly speaks to your lack of taste.

You didn't just dismiss the delightful Mrs. Sandra Bullock? Sandy, as you pointed out, to those of us who know her best. This is an actress of excellence who has stretched herself far beyond many genres and placed herself atop the world of performers such as Katherine Hepburn, Betty Davis, & Lonnie Anderson. A Queen of the cinema. I am completely Un-A-Muse-D as well as Confused Mr. Muse???? I shall have to think on future visits. By the way, could you help with some code. I got myself in a terrible ringer and ...

There is a rare clip of Sandra Bullock winning an award in germany http://www.videorolls.com/watch/Sandra-Bullock-Bam... and her speech is all in fluent, very good german. very interesting and cool.:)For Translation read ahead! Edit The speech: Gosh, I'm so nervous cause over there on the floor lies my speech (she didn't got that right though, instead of "Rede" [speech] she used "Sprache" [language]). Okay, we live in such glorious times, cause I used to be a waitress, I was a cleaning lady, then I was a disco dancer, then I was a dog's coiffeur...who would have thought that all those jobs would lead me up to this stage some day? But this is the best proof for an audience which is so tolerant these days that even people like me have a chance. My mother always told me „Be original, Sandra" and it made me totally crazy as a child. But now I understand it, cause my mother was ahead of her time. And thank god she put that across to me before she left into a different world herself. So thanks. Thanks to...(and then a lot of names of her family I suppose. Uncles, aunts...probably a niece, cause she threw a "go to bed now" after one name.)
